SPACES SHAPED BY LIGHT
Architecture of Light is a bespoke interior and spatial design practice exploring the relationship between light, material, atmosphere and spatial perception.
Rooted in interior design, the practice creates refined, sensory and emotionally resonant spaces shaped through proportion, texture, shadow and the presence of light.
Light is not treated only as illumination, but as a design principle; a way of revealing space, creating atmosphere and shaping the way an interior is experienced.
approach
The design process combines spatial planning, material sensitivity and atmospheric thinking, creating interiors that feel personal, considered and deeply connected to the people who use them.
Each project begins with the character of the space: its proportions, rhythm, materials, natural light and emotional potential.
Through light, shadow, texture and colour, Architecture of Light develops spaces that are not only functional and elegant, but also meaningful, memorable and felt.
A BESPOKE APPROACH TO INTERIOR AND SPATIAL DESIGN
WHERE LIGHT DEFINES SPACE
Each project is approached as a spatial narrative whereas balancing function, atmosphere and material presence.
Some projects are presented as completed interiors, while others are shown as concept designs, visual studies or lighting spatial explorations. A number of private residential projects remain unpublished due to client confidentiality and are available for viewing by appointment only.
We design spaces through a sensitive balance of function, atmosphere and visual identity.
The portfolio brings together completed projects, conceptual interiors and visual studies, with a focus on light as a defining element of spatial experience.
about the designer
Sandra DePalo is an interior and spatial designer, lecturer and researcher whose work explores the relationship between light, atmosphere and spatial perception.
With a background in interior and spatial design lighting and education, her practice brings together design, research and a deep sensitivity to the emotional qualities of space.
Her primary research interest and passion is light, not only as a technical element of design, but as a material, an atmosphere and a powerful force in shaping spatial experience.
Through Architecture of Light, Sandra develops bespoke interiors, spatial concepts and visual narratives guided by proportion, materiality, perception and the poetics of light.
